I was that girl. That one you probably know (in fact she might be you too!) The girl who was never comfortable in her own skin, the girl who preferred to stay in the background and hide, the one who never felt like her body was attractive or small enough to matter.
I spent the majority of my life from the time I turned 14, worrying about if I was ever going to be that "perfect size" that everyone was always stressing about. In reality, I spent close to 25 years trying everything under the sun to make myself feel even SLIGHTLY more comfortable in my own skin. I suffered from body image issues, feelings of failure, and constant self scrutiny over and over again. Over time, I put the worth of myself down to what I looked like (and even what I weighed on the scale)
I worked in the fitness industry for close to 10 years, and during that time, I probably tried every workout, diet, and personal training/group class options out there. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars trying to find something that would help me truly feel and look better. Even after leaving that industry, the mindset I had around my body image was terrible. I continued to base my worthiness on things that truly did not make me a better person in any capacity.
Finally, in 2021 I decided to take my health into my own hands and really deep dive into what was not working, and why! I started doing things that helped me better understand what was happening within my body, and how things like stress, sugar, and sleep all impacted my ability to absorb nutrients, feel better, and allow my body to function at its peak levels.
After spending 2 years working on myself, I realized that I wanted to be able to help others to better understand themselves and how their bodies worked. I wanted to help them make long lasting, sustainable changes that would leave them feeling accomplished, empowered, and excited about the future. I wanted to be able to help others to find that peace and happiness within themselves.
I studied Nutrition coaching through Precision Nutrition which takes a "whole body" approach including looking at everything from your physical state, mental state, support system etc to ensure that every client's process is tailored to them.
